With over 25 years of hands-on experience, I specialise in heritage carpentry and timber repairs here in Wellington. I’ve spent my career working on the villas and bungalows that define our city, developing a clear understanding of traditional construction methods and how these homes perform over time.I carry out specialist timber repairs for Wellington villas, bungalows, and character homes, including sash window repair, timber door repair, native timber flooring, trims, and traditional joinery. This same attention to detail carries into my Wellington workshop, where I restore antique and vintage furniture with a focus on repair, refinishing, and preservation. Whether it’s a family heirloom or a more recent vintage piece, the aim is to bring it back into use while retaining the character and originality that give it value.I carry out antique furniture repair, timber refinishing, and structural restoration using appropriate methods and materials. Wherever possible, original components are retained and repaired rather than replaced, with a focus on careful, consistent results that last.
How I Work
I approach carpentry and restoration carefully and transparently, with a focus on doing the job properly rather than rushing the process.A project starts with a Job-Sheet, this is based on the clients brief and provides a basic scope and cost estimate for the job. For charge-up work, labour and materials are clearly itemised as the job progresses. This usually suits older homes, where unexpected variations can be revealed once work begins.Where the scope can be clearly refined and agreed, a fixed-price option is available. This generally suits smaller, more predictable projects.All work is handled directly by me, with clear communication, careful workmanship, and reliability.
